CEC have been a partner in several projects that involved filming Edinburgh. They need to be contacted re copyright and for permission to use and then the production company used in each case should be contacted for getting footage in edit format. There would be a cost to cover here. The Partners for this include: Edinburgh City Council, Edinburgh & Lothians Tourist Board, Historic Scotland, Our Dynamic Earth, International Festival of the Sea, EICC, British Waterways Board (canal shots), Hopetoun House. It includes lovely shots of Edinburgh’s tourist attractions as well as some of the prettier but less well know areas. VisitScotland holds an extensive array of stock footage of sites throughout Scotland including Edinburgh and the Lothians which promote tourism. The footage is available to travel media through negotiation with Karin and could also be available to commercial filmmakers through negotiation with Chris. The filming has been undertaken by Ideal World Productions. Ideal World also shot aerial footage which they still hold the copyright to. For this they should be contacted directly on: 0141 353 3222.
