Fine selection of real ales and malts. been done up but keeps its traditional flavour.

Pear Tree House has been an Edinburgh institution since it opened as a bar in 1982. Situated close to Edinburgh University, it attracts a mixture of students and local customers, which creates a laid back, cosmopolitan atmosphere. The history of the eighteenth century building is evident in the prints on the walls, the collection of historical Scottish literature, and the plaque on the front of the building reading "1749"!
